You have questions about wellness through CBD and at Pura Vida, we have answers about CBD and what it can do for you.
CBD stands for “cannabidiol.” Our CBD is extracted from hemp, a plant with very low THC levels. Hemp is used to make all kinds of things in America from reusable bags you can tote to the supermarket and clothing to CBD oils that provide nutritious benefits without getting you high.
No, it’s not. CBD is the non-psychoactive compound from the cannabis plant. It doesn’t have the same psychoactive qualities contained in THC. It doesn’t get you high. Its purpose is to bring healthful benefits that soothe the body, mind and spirit without any drug-like effects. See our blog, What is CBD?
Hemp and marijuana are not the same because hemp won’t get you high. Hemp is a common term when referring to the cannabis sativa plant strains that contain extremely low levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). It is typically used for its oils, fiber, and seeds.
CBD attaches to certain receptors in your body to render their effects. Your body produces certain cannabinoids by itself and has two receptors for them, CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are mostly found in your brain while CB2 receptors are mostly in your immune system. By taking pure full spectrum hemp oil with a high CBD content, your body is getting nutrition it is missing along with soothing effects that unite the mind and body in harmony.
At Pura Vida, we offer many ways to take CBD oil in the form of soft gels, tinctures, oils, and vapes. You’ll need to follow the instructions listed on the particular Pura Vida product that you order. Soft gels are intended to swallow while oils should be put under the tongue and left there for 60 to 90 seconds before being swallowed.
Remember, full spectrum hemp oil with a high CBD content is not THC and it doesn’t give you any psychoactive effects. It instead provides a relaxed feeling, not one that causes you to grab munchies and laugh non-stop. The effects of CBD oil depend though on how much you consume, your body mass, the rate at which you consume it and your metabolism.
If you’re using our CBD oil, it’s best to refrigerate it if you can. If not, find a cool, dark area to keep it from losing its potency. Keep it away from direct sunlight. It can last up to a year when stored properly.
With CBD isolate, the difference is that it is completely CBD. Therefore, isolates lack the other compounds. See Full Spectrum vs. CBD Isolate
